Salte Construction recently completed a full interior fit-out for a 45-unit senior living community in Southern New Hampshire — and it’s a great example of how purpose-built design can meet both comfort and quality at scale.

What Goes Into a Senior Living Fit-Out?

For 55+ communities, it’s not just about square footage — it’s about livability. For this project, that meant focusing on the details that matter:

  • Residential Unit Build-Outs: 45 thoughtfully designed one- and two-bedroom units, each fully fitted with kitchens, bathrooms, and accessible features. Layouts were planned with aging-in-place in mind.
  • Quality Finishes: From luxury vinyl plank flooring to stone countertops and soft-close cabinetry, the goal was to blend function with aesthetic — delivering a space residents would be proud to call home.
  • Amenity Spaces: Communal gathering areas, a fitness and wellness room, mailroom, and flexible multi-purpose spaces were all included to support resident engagement and lifestyle programming.
  • Mechanical + Electrical: Full MEP coordination to ensure comfort, efficiency, and ease of maintenance — including HVAC systems tailored to residential use, modern lighting packages, and ADA-compliant fixtures.
  • Fire and Life Safety: Full sprinkler coverage, fire alarms, and egress planning to meet local code requirements while ensuring peace of mind for residents and property managers.
